JUNE 12, 2006. CHEMO # 8 / DANICA TURNED 17 YEARS OLD!

The ice cream cake with 17 lit up candles that Barbie and Angie gave Danica as a surprise was beautiful! No pictures to go in her photo album since I didn't bring my camera with me to Va. that weekend but the look on her face while blowing those 17 candles would stay with me forever. Thank you so much and I really appreciate you for giving Danica something to remember all her life.

Dave went for his chemo #8. His oncologist decided against giving him meds for water retention because the side effects would be worse than what is being treated. He was told to put up his legs as much as possible and no salt in his diet which had helped a lot. I could feel the bones on his legs again before he went to Va last Friday night but he fished all day Saturday and his legs started swelling.

He and Melissa is spending the whole week together in Va. They left Friday night with Brandon but he was ready to go home last night. He was feeling lousy, panicky and his anxiety was on the roof which are the side effects of drug withdrawal. I forgot to put a new patch on before he left Friday. I kept on reminding him to put one on but he said that he was fine until yesterday. He felt all alone that he couldn't even remember going to Va. by himself and did okey. I talked to him this morning while he was at Leesville Lake ( on the boat) with Melissa and he said that he is feeling better. He didn't want to go home and they will just wait for me and Danica to join them next weekend. He said that his mom is making him dinner tonight and he will have dinner at Mike's house tomorrow. I just talked to Angie and she said that they made plans together to go swimming tomorrow morning with all the kids. He is getting ready for another fishing tournament on Sunday which means more leg swelling and driving back home late. I think it is safe for me to say that he is on alternative treatment, FISHING! He said that when he is fishing he is just another guy--- with no CANCER.

To our Friends and Family: We thank you so much for your continued support, love and prayers.
