FISHING AND MORE!

Dave finally was able to take the boat out last Saturday! It was such a nice day to be out. Dave and John will be having their first fishing tournament on Sunday, the first day of April. While they were pre-fishing for their tournament, Melissa and I went with Barbie and her boys to watch Robbie's first soccer game. Then, headed out to Danville for some well-deserved pampering. Barbie let Melissa shopped around Wal-Mart with Ryan while we were having manicure and pedicure done. We did some shopping while there and rushed back to Gretna for dinner with the family.

We met at Napolis for dinner with Sissy, baby Andrew, Brandon, Barbie and the boys (Robert didn't make it), Tim and Marie with Cody and Maggie, John and Mom Hoskins. We missed Angie and Scott (Scott's family was in town), and Delta and Jay. Delta was at the hospital for a bad stomach virus. I'm not sure where Mike and Cherryl was!

Dave ordered calamari but decided that he didn't like to eat it after all and had my salad instead. I had ribeye steak and he had a few bites. Other than hushing Dave once in a while, the family had a good time. His anxiety level was sky high when we got to the restaurant. While waiting for his meds to kick in, Barbie and I tried to hush him several times but couldn't win. John finally asked him to go outside for a smoke.

He had a very busy weekend. We got in at 10:30 pm, Friday. He went to play poker until 1:oo am, woke up at 5:00 am for fishing, went home for a short nap, went to dinner, played cards with Gin, William, his mom and I. Sunday morning, he was out fishing with John at 6:00 until noon.

He had a good time while fishing on the boat but he felt dizzy and fell, broke his thumb and another finger nail. He has a bad sun burn on his nose that started bleeding. He was supposed to stay back in Va. for the week since he is off chemo but separation anxiety kicked in. He just couldn't stay away from me! (for now ).

While driving back home yesterday, he got so sick. We had to get off Highway 29 a few times. Had learned my lesson not to wonder around driving a pick up truck in unchartered territory (in the country) while dropping your husband somewhere. It's hard to turn around, hoping not to hit somebody else's mailbox and not fall on a ditch. My guardian angel was watching over me, he sent a couple (driving the same vehicle as mine). They helped me get out and thank goodness, at the stop sign, they went the opposite direction when I went to pick Dave up with "wet ones" in hand. We had to stay at a gas station for a while before going in to the city limits. It's kind of hard to stop at 66 or 495 to throw up. Cars would be zooming by.

He slept for a while today, then asked for omelet for lunch, ate it all. I asked him if he wanted dinner but didn't want none. Then, he decided that he wanted prime rib so we went out. He ordered crab legs and prime rib, finished the crab legs and had a few bites of the steak. He took it home for his lunch tomorrow.

He is feeling better knowing that he will be able to do some fishing. I will be taking a few days off while the girls are on spring break to spend some time together.

We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. Please continue praying for his strength, physically and mentally to fight this disease.

Have to go upstairs to give him his meds since it's already late and have to take something for headache myself.

Edith
